Kevin Seifert, of ESPN.com, reports Green Bay Packers general manager Ted Thompson said he has spoken with former San Francisco 49ers general manager Scot McCloughan recently "as a friend" but "not from a business standpoint." Technically, McCloughan remains an employee of the 49ers and would not be able to discuss job opportunities with any team. Thompson said he wasn't certain whether the job will be filled. "We'll see," Thompson said. "It depends on how we make it through the spring. We're functioning pretty well right now."
