The Minnesota Vikings' decision to trade up in the NFL Draft to select FS Harrison Smith resulted in large part from the access the team's coaching staff had to Smith at the Senior Bowl. "When our coaches coached the Senior Bowl, they fell in love with Harrison Smith," general manager Rick Spielman said. "At safety, the depth after him got really thin. So we felt that was a guy we really wanted to get where we got him. That's the point with what we did."

Blanton measured 6-foot 1/2, 201 pounds and ran a 4.95- and 4.62-second 40-yard dash. Dever measured 6-foot-5 1/4, 304 pounds and recorded a 5.36- and 5.38-second 40-yard dash, had a 27 1/2-inch vertical, an 8-foot-9 broad jump, a 4.78-second short shuttle and put up 15 strength lifts. Fleming measured 6-foot-1 1/2, 247 pounds and ran a 4.58- and 4.57-second 40-yard dash. Gray measured 5-foot-9 1/2, 225 pounds. Smith measured 6-foot-1 7/8, 214 pounds.
