"I definitely want to keep playing for two or three more years. My body feels great and I feel fresh mentally. I'm not ready to walk away from the game," Fraley said.

Friedman has received most of the work with the No. 1 offense during practice this week. The coaching staff also believes he is more familiar with the blocking since he has had more time with the team. Head coach Romeo Crennel said the starter would be a game-time decision.

Jeff Walcott, of ClevelandBrowns.com, reports Cleveland Browns general manager Phil Savage commented during his press conference Friday, Sept. 8, that ideally the team would like to have recently acquired C Hank Fraley start Week 1, as opposed to C Lennie Friedman. "Ideally, we would like to see Fraley start and see Lennie be the swing center-guard," Savage said. "He probably has more mileage as a swing backup than a full-fledged starter." Head coach Romeo Crennel has yet to name a starter.

Mary Kay Cabot, of the Plain Dealer, reports the Cleveland Browns traded a sixth- or seventh-round draft pick in 2008 to the Philadelphia Eagles for OC Hank Fraley, according to Browns head coach Romeo Crennel. Fraley is a virtual lock for the starting job in Cleveland. "I think because you've got a starting center, a guy who's played in the NFL, you can say that the position has been solidified a little bit," said Crennel. "His experience and toughness will bring something to the table for us."

Fraley replaced OG Todd Herremans with the No. 1 unit during the third offensive series Thursday, Aug. 17. Head coach Andy Reid said, "I just wanted to get Hank in there with the first unit. It was a way to get him in the mix there." Fraley was happy to try the new position and said, "You want to be starting anywhere. The more you can do is always better. Guard isn't much different with the sets."

Patrick McManamon, of the Akron Beacon Journal, reports the Cleveland Browns are highly unlikely to acquire Philadelphia Eagles C Hank Fraley in a trade, according to a source. The Eagles supposedly had a wink-wink agreement with Brown C LeCharles Bentley (knee) during the offseason, but the Browns swooped in and stole Bentley. While issues like these don't always create bad feelings between teams, it appears in this case the issue will get in the way of a trade.

Reid said, "It's going back and forth. [C] Jamaal [Jackson] tweaked his ankle just a little bit out there and got it taped up and came back in. I thought that was a positive thing. He understands that there is competition and he doesn't want to miss a snap. And, [C] Hank, [Fraley] his knee is a little banged up and he's got that taped up. They're battling and they've got those two-a-day battle wounds on them but they're just not going to give in. they're doing a good job."

Bob Brookover, of the Philadelphia Inquirer, reports Philadelphia Eagles OC Hank Fraley spent some time Monday, June 5, practicing at long-snapper for field goals and punts, a job that belongs to TE/LS Mike Bartrum. "You know, the more you can do." Fraley said. "I've actually messed around with it the last couple years. The only long-snapper we have is Bartrum. It's just to help out if something does happen to Mike." Fraley also continues to battle OC Jamaal Jackson for the team's starting center spot.

"Those two are going to compete and they're both taking reps with the ones and the twos and we'll see how that all works out," said Eagles head coach Andy Reid.
