Tully Corcoran, of the Topeka Capital Journal, reports Kansas City Chiefs LB Nick Reid is going to make the most of his opportunity to play in the NFL. Reid is undersized for an NFL linebacker and does not possess outstanding speed but head coach Herman Edwards has noticed him, "But in pads, all the sudden he shows up a lot better. He's a very, very instinctive football player." Reid said his goal is to prove everyone wrong and make it in the NFL.

KCChiefs.com reports Kansas City Chiefs head coach Herman Edwards discussed LB Nick Reid during his press conference Friday, May 19. Edwards said, "He's getting better. I think he's a full speed guy, which is good on defense because you've got to be able to play full speed. He's a pretty knowledgeable guy, very smart, very coachable. He's got the traits and he's a tough guy. All those things help him. Now there are a lot of good linebackers here and he's going to get and opportunity and that's all you can ask for."

Elizabeth Merrill, of the Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs OLB Nick Reid is attempting to make the Chiefs' roster as a rookie free agent. "He got better as the week went on," Edwards said. "It's only five (practices), but I thought he was very, very aware of what we're asking him to do. He transferred things we asked him to do from the classroom to the field, and that's good. He's a hard worker. He's a full-speed guy."

Kurt Caywood, of the Topeka Capital-Journal, reports Kansas City Chiefs general manager Carl Peterson said LB Nick Reid has a great chance to make it with the team. Peterson added, "I like a lot about Nick Reid. He's an outstanding linebacker. He's instinctive, and he's a playmaker. Without question, Nick has an outstanding chance possibly to be a Kansas City Chiefs 53-man roster guy."
