The Associated Press reports the lead detective in the shooting of Jacksonville Jaguars OT Richard Collier (undisclosed) said investigators believe Collier was targeted. Collier remains in critical but stable condition in a Jacksonville hospital. Police do not believe the shooting was the result of any earlier confrontation at a nightclub.

Updating previous items, The Associated Press reports Jacksonville Jaguars OT Richard Collier (undisclosed) is making gradual improvement from gunshot wounds but is "not out of the woods yet", according to agent Jeff Jankovich. Collier remains in intensive care at a Jacksonville medical center. "He's awake at times. He's still in intensive care, but he's stable. Every time they've talked to the doctors, it seems like it's a little bit better. It's still precarious. There may be more surgery needed, but it seems encouraging at this point," Jankovich said.

Paul Pinkham, of The Florida Times-Union, reports Jacksonville Jaguars OT Richard Collier pleaded no contest to drunk driving Monday, June 9. Collier was found passed out drunk in a fast-food drive-through Nov. 3. Collier was sentenced to six months' probation, 50 hours of community service and $650 in fines and court costs. Collier's driver's license was suspended for six months under the standard first-time sentence for drunken driving.
