Tennessee Titans WR Kendall Wright said offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains has completely changed the team's offensive playbook and had not kept anything from last season. Loggains said the team will be a run-first team but will still throw the ball. "In today's NFL, not throwing the ball a lot is still throwing it around 30 times a game," Loggains said. "We are going to be a run, play-action team first, but we're still going to drop back and throw the football."

Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains will incorporate some things that will play to QB Jake Locker's talents, namely his ability to throw on the move and scramble. That might mean even exploring some of the pistol or read-option into the playbook on occasion. "We're going to do just like every team in the league and look at clubs like Seattle and Washington. We're still very early in the process of building this offense, but we're definitely gonna look at all that stuff, just like every team in the NFL is gonna do," Loggains said.

Tennessee Titans offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains said he wants to simplify the language used in play calling to help players focus more on making plays. "Let them get out of the huddle knowing what to do so they can figure out what they have to do to make the play successful," Loggains said. "They shouldn't be breaking the huddle wondering what the play is and where they need to line up…once you break the huddle, now you can think about what you have to do and how you're going to do it."

Tennessee Titans head coach Mike Munchak said he is not about to make any more coaching changes after firing offensive coordinator Chris Palmer this week. "I am not planning on it," Munchak said. "I don't see any changes on the defensive side of the ball at all going forward. There won't be any more changes the rest of the year." Munchak said he fired Palmer because he felt a change was needed and because he has confidence in Dowell Loggains, the new coordinator and former quarterbacks coach.

With the move to new offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains, the Tennessee Titans are expected to return some of their base principles run by former offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger. Loggains will look to get rid of confusion that was created in Chris Palmer's offense where the quarterback and receiver were regularly crossed up and not on the same page. Palmer's option routes frequently included no flexibility for the players. Loggains is expected to allow receivers more freedom to play off coverages to take advantage of space and work in it. QB Jake Locker will be allowed to see something develop and take advantage of it. The move to Loggains should mean more downfield options. Some of the underneath options may disappear - a tight end heading into the flat may now stay in to block to allow the other tight end who is crossing deeper a chance to make a play.
Fantasy Tip: The coordinator change should benefit the offense positively overall. Perhaps Jared Cook will see the biggest value spike, giving Locker another downfield option other than Kenny Britt, Nate Washington or Kendall Wright. Chris Johnson should feel more comfortable with Loggains at the helm, too, giving him a chance to get back to his more natural, instinctual running style.
