Mike Reiss, of ESPNBoston.com, reports New England Patriots coaching assistant Brian Ferentz could have the inside track for the Patriots tight ends coaching position. The Patriots likely will hire someone within the organization that has a background in the team's blocking schemes since the tight ends are tied into the running game.

Gil Brandt, of NFL.com, reports Iowa OL Brian Ferentz measured a height of 6-2 3/8 and a weight of 290 pounds at his Pro Day. He ran the 40-yard dash with times of 5.30 seconds and 5.29 seconds while finishing the short shuttle in 4.80 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.62 seconds. He had a 38 1/2-inch vertical jump and an 8-foot-7 broad jump. Ferentz completed 24 repetitions on the 225-pound bench press.
