Thu, 09 Mar 2006 20:38:42 -0800 Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports free agent TE Roland Williams (Rams) would like to re-sign with the St. Louis Rams for 2006. Williams met with head coach Scott Linehan earlier this week and told him that he would like the opportunity to return to the Rams. However, Williams may not be ready to practice until early August because of a 2005 knee injury and subsequent surgery.
Thu, 22 Dec 2005 17:34:35 -0800 Nick Wagoner, of StLouisRams.com, reports St. Louis Rams TE Roland Williams (knee) expressed optimism over his rehab and recovery from a major knee injury that has sidelined him this season. "The rehab is going spectacular, ahead of game plan," Williams said. "Dr. Patella and Dr. Lyndon Gross, my cousin, did a great job rehabbing and getting after it. You are either in a storm or coming out of one so we are coming through the storm. I'm going to be all right." Williams admitted to gaining about 12 pounds during his rehab and is anxious to resume his typical workouts. "I will be back in probably May," Williams said. "I'll be back to 100 percent. I am walking, I am out and about. I can lift it, I can bend it, I can go. I'm just getting back in shape."
Sat, 08 Oct 2005 19:35:16 -0700 Jim Thomas, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, reports St. Louis Rams TE Roland Williams will undergo knee surgery Monday, Oct. 10. "I tore the ACL, PCL, MCL - the big three," Williams said, referring to the anterior cruciate, posterior cruciate and medial collateral ligaments. "So I have to let the swelling go down, and go get that surgery on Monday." Williams feels he will be back quicker than the normal recovery time for the injury. "Some people say eight months, some people say 12 months," Williams said. "But I think consistent with everything else in my life, I'll beat the odds. So I'll be back as soon as possible."

Mon, 03 Oct 2005 17:53:11 -0700 St. Louis Rams TE Roland Williams (knee) dislocated his knee during the Week 4 game, knocking him out for the season and requiring surgery to fix. The Rams will sign free agent TE Cam Cleeland, who played with the team from 2003-2004. Cleeland should be on the practice field Wednesday, Oct. 5.
