The Journal Sentinel reports Green Bay Packers OT Earl Dotson played a pain-free game last night in Oakland. He was in the game for more than a half. Rookie WR Robert Ferguson could not remember much about the game after suffering a mild concussion in the fourth quarter. He was hit by Raiders S Raymond Perryman before the ball arrived. Perryman suffered a jaw injury and mild concussion. TE David Martin sat out last night after he suffered a separated shoulder Wednesday when he fell attempting to catch a pass.

Steve Corkran reports for the Contra Costa Times Oakland Raiders coach Jon Gruden will face some tough decisions after this week's pre-season game in Mexico City. The Raiders must reduce their roster from 88 players to 65, plus NFL Europe exemptions by next Tuesday afternoon. Keeping three or four QBs is one of the coaches decisions. RBs Eric Metcalf, Zack Crockett and rookie Derek Combs likely battling for one spot. Eric Johnson, Calvin Branch and Raymond Perryman are battling for the final one or two spots in the defensive backfield. There are other tough choices as well with P Shane Lechler and PK Sebastian Janikowski secure in their positions.

The San Jose Mercury News reports the Oakland Raiders may have picked up a sleeper pick in Derek Combs of Ohio State. The Raiders took him with the 228th pick. "We're going to take a good look at Derek as a wide receiver," Coach Jon Gruden said. "We drafted him as an athlete at that stage." Although Combs had only 11 receptions in four seasons with Ohio State, Gruden said the Raiders liked the way he caught the ball in pre-draft workouts. Gruden also was impressed with the hitting ability of Northern Arizona S Raymond Perryman.
