Steve Pate, of The Daily Oakland Press, reports the Detroit Lions have hired Cedric Saunders as their new director of football operations. He will help organize camps and offseason programs, work in scouting and perhaps in contract negotiations. He joins the team from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
