Royals | Martin Prado may be option for Royals

Mon, 27 Jul 2015 10:07:34 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado could be a trade option for the Kansas City Royals, but the team is showing minimal interest in Prado at this point. The Marlins are willing to trade Prado if they receive the right deal.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) likely would be a utility player if he was traded to the Royals and probably would not see regular playing time. Prado should continue to see regular playing time if he stays with the Marlins and could be an option on FantasyScore against certain opponents.

Marlins | Martin Prado drawing interest

Fri, 24 Jul 2015 18:20:35 -0700

The Miami Marlins have received interest in INF Martin Prado, although they do not appear interested in trading him.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has been serving as Miami's regular second baseman in the absence of Dee Gordon (thumb). While he is a useful player to have on a major league team due to his versatility, he is a risky option in FantasyScore because he doesn't offer a ton of upside.

Marlins | Martin Prado hitless in return

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 19:07:51 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) went 0-for-4 against the Philadelphia Phillies Friday, July 17, in his first start since coming off the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has not played since June, so he could need a few games to develop his timing. He doesn't offer a ton of upside anyway, so you can afford to wait until he catches fire before taking a chance on him at FantasyScore.

Marlins | Martin Prado starting at 2B

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 12:52:51 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) will start at second base against Philadelphia Phillies SP Adam Morgan Friday, July 17, and is batting second in the lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) has not played since the middle of June because of shoulder injury but is ready to return. He likely will see most of the starts at second base until Dee Gordon (thumb) returns. Prado is a risky option on FantasyScore, and owners may want to see him play in a game or two before using him.

Marlins | Dee Gordon could return this month

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 08:21:39 -0700

Miami Marlins 2B Dee Gordon (thumb) can return July 28 at the earliest. 3B Martin Prado is expected to fill in at second base while Gordon is out.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) doesn't collect enough counting stats to use on FantasyScore on a regular basis.

Marlins | Dee Gordon to DL

Fri, 17 Jul 2015 07:39:55 -0700

Miami Marlins 2B Dee Gordon (thumb) was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to July 12, with a dislocated left thumb. 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) was activated from the 15-day disabled list Friday, July 17.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) is expected to slot in at second in Gordon's absence. He hasn't done a lot this season and isn't the best choice on FantasyScore. Hold on to Gordon in all formats, but it's nearly impossible to replace his stolen bases. Jarrod Dyson, Delino DeShields Jr. and Chris Owings are potential pickups on waivers because of their thievery.

Marlins | Martin Prado to be activated Friday

Sun, 12 Jul 2015 16:09:28 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) is expected to be activated from the disabled list Friday, July 17, against the Philadelphia Phillies.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,600, 7.2% of cap) is hitting a respectable .272 for the year, and while he is worth a look as cheaper option at FantasyScore against friendly matchups, there are usually options available with a lot more upside.

Marlins | Martin Prado a week away

Fri, 10 Jul 2015 08:53:18 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) has played in two rehab games and says he's roughly a week away from coming off the disabled list.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) was hitting .272 (69-for-254) with four home runs and 24 RBI before his injury, and he can be useful in most fantasy leagues when he's playing. Check your league's waiver wire to see if he was dropped. Derek Dietrich ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has mainly been filling in for the Fish at the hot corner with Prado hurt.

Marlins | Martin Prado throws across the diamond

Thu, 09 Jul 2015 14:14:40 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) threw from third across the diamond at Marlins Park Thursday, July 9.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) last played Sunday, June 14, and he is clearly still a couple weeks or more away from returning. Continue to check back for updates. Derek Dietrich ($3,800, 7.6% of cap) has been receiving the bulk of playing time at third base, and he is a low-end option in NL-only and cavernous mixed seasonal leagues and FantasyScore contests.

Marlins | Martin Prado to DL

Thu, 18 Jun 2015 12:48:08 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (shoulder) will be placed on the 15-day disabled list due to a shoulder injury. 2B Jordany Valdespin will be called up to the team in a corresponding roster move.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,200, 6.4% of cap) will likely be back-dated on his DL stint because he hasn't played in nearly a week. Look for Derek Dietrich ($2,000, 4.0% of cap) to get some more time at third base.
