The Atlanta Braves have not yet decided if INF/OF Martin Prado will play third base or left field while 3B Chipper Jones (leg) is on the disabled list but manager Fredi Gonzalez said Prado wouldn't go back and forth.

Atlanta Braves OF Martin Prado went 2-for-4 with a double, solo home run and two RBIs Friday, May 18, against the Tampa Bay Rays, pushing his hitting streak to 10 games. He is tied with Chicago Cubs OF David DeJesus for the longest active streak in the National League.

Atlanta Braves OF Eric Hinske went 4-for-6 with a double, home run and three RBIs against the Colorado Rockies Friday, May 4. He was a last-minute addition to the lineup because 3B/OF Martin Prado (illness) was sick.

Atlanta Braves 3B Martin Prado is taking the day off Tuesday, April 17, which is why OF Jason Heyward moved up to second in the batting order. C Brian McCann is scheduled to take the day off Wednesday, April 18.

Atlanta Braves 3B Juan Francisco will make his debut with the team at third base Saturday, April 7, in the team's second game of the season. OF Matt Diaz started in left field and OF Martin Prado received the start at the hot corner Thursday, April 5. Francisco is slated to play third against right-handed pitchers and against some lefties. He hit .343 (72-for-210) with 30 extra-base hits (10 homers) against righties at Class AAA last year with the Cincinnati Reds.

Atlanta Braves 3B Martin Prado (legs) had sore legs Saturday, March 31, after playing seven out of eight games and lifting weights, so manager Fredi Gonzalez gave him both Saturday and Sunday, April 1, off. He is expected to be back in the lineup Monday, April 2.

Atlanta Braves OF Martin Prado said he came to camp this year focused on using the whole field after becoming too pull-happy last season. "I'm feeling good, seeing the ball," Prado said. "In case I'm in the second hole, I want to make sure that I can dominate the other way (to the right side). That I can go there any time I want."

Atlanta Braves OF Martin Prado reported to spring training Monday, Feb. 20, four days early for position players. Prado has shrugged off multiple trade rumors from the offseason and is happy to be back with his teammates. Prado spent the offseason working out in Orlando to strengthen areas and try to avoid the kind of nagging injuries that have slowed him in the past, including groin injuries.

The Colorado Rockies could be in a position to pursue a second baseman. They have pursued Atlanta Braves 2B Martin Prado and are also interested in Boston Red Sox SS Marco Scutaro and New York Mets 2B Justin Turner. If the season started today, INFs DJ LeMahieu or Chris Nelson would be the starter.
