Yankees | Ben Zobrist, Martin Prado interest NYY

Wed, 11 Nov 2015 13:05:22 -0800

Free-agent 2B Ben Zobrist (Royals) and Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado are of interest to the New York Yankees, according to sources.

Fantasy Tip: Middle infield was an area of weakness for the Yankees last season, and adding a veteran presence to the middle of the diamond and lineup would be a significant boost to their team. Still, Zobrist or Prado shouldn't be confused with heavy lifters in fantasy terms. Both are capable of returning a respectable batting average while chipping in across the counting stats. However, neither are contributors in the stolen base column.

Marlins | Martin Prado returns to starting lineup

Fri, 25 Sep 2015 12:45:36 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (wrist) is starting at third base and batting third against Atlanta Braves SP Ryan Weber Friday, Sept. 25.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) hasn't started in six games, so he is a clear risk at FantasyScore Friday. However, over his past 24 games, Prado boasts a .379/.424/.586 slash line and registered a hit in his pinch-hit appearance Thursday, Sept. 24. Prado is an off-the-radar flier for daily contests Friday.

Marlins | Martin Prado still out of the lineup

Thu, 24 Sep 2015 12:20:43 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (wrist) remains out of the starting lineup Thursday, Sept. 24. OF Derek Dietrich is starting at third base and hitting second against Philadelphia Phillies SP Alec Asher Thursday.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has now sat six consecutive games, and there still hasn't been an update on when he'll return to the lineup. Continue to check back for updates, but seasonal owners shouldn't be afraid of replacing Prado for a player who can contribute immediately. Dietrich ($3,900, 7.8% of cap) has been an excellent contributor against right-handed pitchers this season with a .279/.369/.525 slash line, and he stands to move the FantasyScore needle for those willing to take a flier on the outfielder.

Marlins | No Martin Prado against Phillies

Wed, 23 Sep 2015 13:31:30 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (wrist) remains out of the starting lineup Wednesday, Sept. 23. 2B Donovan Solano is starting at third base and hitting second against Philadelphia Phillies SP David Buchanan Wednesday.

Fantasy Tip: This is the fifth consecutive game Prado ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) has missed with the injury, which is unfortunate because he was rounding out the season nicely. Since the All-Star break, Prado boasts a .305/.362/.427 slash line. Continue to check back for updates on his status. Solano ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) could provide sneaky FantasyScore results Wednesday, as Buchanan ($3,000, 6.0% of cap) has allowed a target-worthy 1.010 OPS through his 12 starts this season.

Marlins | Martin Prado out Tuesday

Tue, 22 Sep 2015 12:28:05 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Martin Prado (wrist) remains out of active duty Tuesday, Sept. 22, against the Philadelphia Phillies. 3B Donovan Solano is in Prado's place and will hit second against Phillies SP Aaron Harang.

Fantasy Tip: With the season winding down to the final week here soon, you have to wonder when the Marlins shut Prado ($4,100, 8.2% of cap) down. Keep an eye on him just in case. As for Solano ($1,600, 3.2% of cap), he is 6-for-8 against Harang and may make a good cap-saving pick.

Marlins | Miguel Rojas playing third base

Sun, 16 Aug 2015 11:03:49 -0700

Miami Marlins INF Miguel Rojas will bat second and play third base against St. Louis Cardinals SP Carlos Martinez Sunday, Aug. 16. INF Martin Prado is not in the starting lineup.

Fantasy Tip: Rojas ($1,600, 3.2% of cap) is batting .367 versus righties this season and is 1-for-2 against Martinez in his career. He makes an excellent source of cap relief for FantasyScore owners.

Marlins | Derek Dietrich sitting

Sat, 15 Aug 2015 15:28:57 -0700

Miami Marlins 3B Derek Dietrich is out of the lineup Saturday, Aug. 15, with 3B Martin Prado hitting third.

Fantasy Tip: Prado ($3,700, 7.4% of cap) isn't your prototypical third hitter, and John Lackey is tough at home. Prado is hitting .244 this month and isn't a solid FantasyScore start.
