Updating previous reports, the Tampa Tribune reports free agent QB Bobby Hoying (Raiders) is slated to make a return trip to Tampa on Friday for a formal workout for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

John Clayton reports for ESPN.com former Oakland Raiders QB Bobby Hoying (elbow) hasn't been able to play for the past 18 months due to elbow surgery. However, he is now looking to comeback. The Raiders are interested in re-signing him and the New Orleans Saints and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are reportedly also interested.

As an update to previous reports, the Contra Costa Times reports Oakland Raiders head coach Bill Callahan said the possibility remains the team could re-sign QB Bobby Hoying later in the season if the need for another QB arises.

Hoying is recovering from off-season shoulder surgery, and does still not have a lot of velocity on his throws. Hoying was former head coach Jon Gruden's gem, so he may be on his way out.
