Phil Barber, of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports former Oakland Raiders offensive coordinator and tight ends coach Tom Walsh, as well as assistant offensive line coach Irv Eatman and assistant defensive backs and special teams coach Lorenzo Ward may file a grievance against the team for money owed for the 2007 season. All three coaches are under contract for 2007 and expect to be paid by the team. The grievance would indicate either that the team is contending the money owed, or that it has placed additional demands upon them. NFL Coaches Association staff director Larry Kennan confirmed Thursday, Feb. 22, that his organization has initiated paperwork to bring grievances on behalf of the assistant coaches. If a grievance is filed, the matter will go to an arbitrator appointed by league commissioner Roger Goodell.
