Oakland Raiders P Shane Lechler and DL Richard Seymour were each selected to the Pro Bowl Tuesday, Dec. 27. "What a proud day for the Raiders," head coach Hue Jackson said. "We're excited for them. Those guys will go over to Hawaii and represent us well."

Oakland Raiders head coach Hue Jackson credited PK Sebastian Janikowski and P Shane Lechler for the team's Week 12 win. Janikowski had six field goals in the game, while Lechler's punting, in part, played a role in limiting WR Devin Hester. "That's the reason why Shane Lechler and SeaBass are on this team," Jackson said. "Because those guys are phenomenal. They're phenomenal at what they do, they're the best in the league at what they do. We had to call on them today so many times, and they just kept answering the bell."

Oakland Raiders head coach Tom Cable said Thursday, Dec. 23, that P Shane Lechler (hamstring) is improving, reports Jerry McDonald, of ANG Newspapers. "I feel good about it right now," Cable said. "How sure I am, we'll see tomorrow or Saturday. But I know he's improving and I feel good about it." Practice squad P Danny Baugher would be promoted to the active roster to play in Week 16 against the Indianapolis Colts if Lechler is inactive.
