Armando Salguero, of the Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins OG Bennie Anderson took significant steps toward winning the starting right guard job last week and he celebrated Saturday, Aug. 19, by having two false-start penalties on the first drive and giving up a sack on the second. Part of Anderson's problem might have been that the Dolphins were working off the silent count for the first time this preseason.

Jauron said OG Bennie Anderson (ankle) twisted an ankle during the minicamp. Jauron added the injury was not serious. It gave Jauron a chance to see OL Duke Preston at guard.

Allen Wilson, writing for the Sporting News, reports the Buffalo Bills are taking a look at OG Justin Geisinger at center this offseason. Geisinger played tackle in college but was drafted as a guard. OC Melvin Fowler is penciled in as the starting center, but with OL Duke Preston expected to compete with OG Bennie Anderson for the left guard spot, the team wants to see if Geisinger is capable of handling backup center duties.

"I think Bennie is your ultimate road-grader," McNally said. "Big, strong, 350, 360-pound guy. Certainly the middle of the pocket in pass protection should be shored up. And one-on-one run blocking, obviously he should hold his own in that area. So I think just the size, strength, anchor ability, and having a powerful-type guy inserted in the line will help."
