The Philadelphia Eagles could name their defensive coordinator soon. Philadelphia is interested in Baltimore Ravens linebackers coach Ted Monachino, but the Ravens could block Monachino from leaving. The Eagles also interviewed Browns linebackers coach Billy Davis last week.

Baltimore Ravens linebackers coach Ted Monachino said he is aware of reports linking him to the Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator job; however, he has yet to be in contact with the team. Instead, he has been focused on winning Super Bowl XLVII. "I haven't been contacted and neither has the club. I'm doing everything I can to get us ready for this game," Monachino said. Monachino respects the work Eagles head coach Chip Kelly did at Oregon but doesn't know Kelly personally and doesn't have any idea if Kelly would be interested in bringing him on board in Philadelphia.

The Philadelphia Eagles are showing interest in Baltimore Ravens linebackers coach Ted Monachino for their defensive coordinator opening, according to two NFL sources. If Monachino is the team's target, they could be blocked by the Ravens from hiring the position coach. Teams can block assistants from taking promotions with other clubs unless the job offered is as head coach.
