K.C. Johnson, of the Chicago Tribune, reports University of Washington defensive backs coach Steven Wilks has accepted an offer from the Chicago Bears to become their new defensive backs coach. The team has yet to make an official announcement about the hiring. Wilks replaces Perry Fewell.

Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith is expected to hire Steven Wilks as the team's new secondary coach. Wilks is currently the defensive backs coach at the University of Washington. Wilks will replace Perry Fewell, who left after one season to become Dick Jauron's defensive coordinator with the Buffalo Bills.
