He will serve as a scout for 15 major league teams, with scout Kenny Compton in charge of scouting for the other 15 major league teams. Duties will be split geographically, with Krivsky handling Eastern teams and Compton handling Western teams.

Krivsky, who joined the Orioles in November as special assistant to the president of baseball operations, will work under Mets general manager Omar Minaya. Krivsky served as a special assistant to Minaya in 2008 before being hired by the Orioles.

The Reds have been struggling against lefties so far this season. "It's too small a sample to me. We're a better hitting team than we've showed here in spots. Every team goes through struggles at various points in time. Nothing says you're going to hit .275 against righties and .275 against lefties, " Krivsky said.
