Updating a previous item, Tom Kowalski, of Mlive.com, reports the Detroit Lions have hired University of Michigan quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler to be the team's new quarterbacks coach.

The Detroit News reports Michigan quarterbacks coach Scot Loeffler reiterated last week that he is not pursuing jobs in the NFL and remains on the Wolverines' staff. He had been potentially linked to a potential opening on the coaching staff of the New England Patriots.
