Kevin Seifert, of the Minneapolis Star-Tribune, reports University of Michigan's defensive coordinator Ron English told the Ann Arbor News he is not a candidate to be named the defensive coordinator for the Minnesota Vikings.

Updating previous reports, Associated Press reports Ron English, who recently said he accepted a position with the Chicago Bears and later declined, has been promoted to defensive coordinator at the University of Michigan.

1130 WDFN Sports Radio in Detroit reports Ron English, who was recently hired by the Chicago Bears as their defensive backs coach, is leaving the Bears. English is returning to the University of Michigan as the team's defensive coordinator. He spent the previous three seasons as the Wolverines' defensive backs coach.
