New York Giants P Steve Weatherford (back, ankle) averaged just 38.6 net yards per punt in Week 10 against the Seattle Seahawks, and he admitted that his back was giving him trouble and limiting his ability to explode through his kicks. Weatherford has also dealt with torn ankle ligaments all year.

"I think he's had six touchbacks in the playoffs and he had four all season," head coach Rex Ryan said Monday, Jan. 17. "(If) we get back to punting like we know we can, that could be a huge plus for us." Weatherford averaged just 36.0 yards per punt against the Patriots, while punning New England inside its own 20 just one time in six attempts.
