Sun, 19 May 2013 10:10:16 -0700 The Tennessee Titans believe they will be able to do more with TE Delanie Walker this season than what they did with TE Jared Cook last season. The team believes Walker can line up on the outside but also be an inline blocker in the running game and run more traditional tight end routes.
Thu, 09 May 2013 11:07:08 -0700 Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker said he expects to be a part of the passing game this season because he will be given more of an opportunity to catch passes than he received when he was with the San Francisco 49ers. Walker said he understands he has to become a more reliable target since he dropped nine passes last season. He said he would like to catch at least 70 passes in 2013.
Tue, 12 Mar 2013 15:26:13 -0700 Tennessee Titans TE Delanie Walker agreed to a four-year, $17.5 million deal Tuesday, March 12, that includes $8.6 million in guaranteed money.
Tue, 12 Mar 2013 13:58:19 -0700 The Tennessee Titans have agreed to terms with unrestricted free-agent TE Delanie Walker (49ers) on a four-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed. Fantasy Tip: Tennessee was, understandably, dissatisfied with Jared Cook's play relative to his ceiling. Walker gained some attention for his occasional, big-play exploits once Colin Kaepernick was under center for the San Francisco 49ers, and the Titans' new tight end has some upside now that he'll be hooking up with another mobile passer in Jake Locker. It'll be interesting to see how his new team plans to utilize him. The athletic Walker has never been a primary tight end, except to fill in for Vernon Davis, so there should be some question about whether he can fit the bill.
Tue, 12 Mar 2013 13:17:47 -0700 The Tennessee Titans are trying to reach agreements in principle with OG Andy Levitre (Bills) and TE Delanie Walker (49ers).
Wed, 06 Mar 2013 19:48:01 -0800 The Philadelphia Eagles could pursue free-agent TE Delanie Walker (49ers), as he might fit in well with the new offense of head coach Chip Kelly since Walker can line up as a fullback, H-Back and tight end. He did have eight drops, however, in 39 targets, so that is a definite drawback.
Sat, 23 Feb 2013 04:13:14 -0800 San Francisco 49ers impending free-agent TE Delanie Walker is someone the Chicago Bears could target in free agency. The Bears would like to upgrade the tight end position and could also look to add one in the NFL Draft.
Sun, 10 Feb 2013 19:53:16 -0800 Cleveland Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski likes to use his tight ends in the offense, and the only option on the roster right now is TE Jordan Cameron. The team wants more depth at the position. Some potential targets might be impending free-agent TEs Dustin Keller (Jets), Fred Davis (Redskins) or Delanie Walker (49ers).
Wed, 06 Feb 2013 14:36:57 -0800 The San Francisco 49ers are expected to consider re-signing impending free-agent TE Delanie Walker a priority this offseason because of his blocking and special teams play.
Sun, 20 Jan 2013 10:52:33 -0800 San Francisco 49ers TE Delanie Walker said he and WR A.J. Jenkins working with the JUGs machine during practice this week to improve their catching abilities. Walker dropped two passes in the team's Divisional Round playoff game while Jenkins dropped his only target this season. "Every time defense was up (in practice), I run to the JUGs machine," Walker said. "I even brought A.J. with me because he's going to be a key factor this year, I mean, in this game -- making sure he's catching balls with me. Really, that's what we need. We need guys to make plays when they come to them. I consider me one of the playmakers here."
