Updating a previous item, Tom Kowalski, of MLive.com, reports Detroit Lions DL Marcus Bell will likely not return to the team for the 2007 season. Bell has already received permission to seek a trade. When asked if that meant Bell would not return next season, head coach Rod Marinelli said, "Probably."

Nicholas J. Cotsonika, of the Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions head coach Rod Marinelli is not looking to add any more nose tackle. When asked if he was looking, Marinelli responded, "Oh, no. ... We're kind of three deep right there, and I like all of them right now." The three are DLs Shaun Cody, Marcus Bell and Damian Gregory. Defensive line coach Joe Cullen said the team feels they are "going to be the future of our nose tackle position."

"It ain't true," Rogers said. "But I don't care." "I have got one thing to say," Bell said. "I had nothing to do with it."

Tom Kowalski, of mlive.com, reports, citing WXYT, that the Detroit Lions players who filed the grievance against the team are DT Marcus Bell, DE James Hall and DT Shaun Rogers. Kowalski reports he heard Bell and Hall were involved, but three sources told him Rogers was not involved. Mlive.com also reports Hall, the Lions' player's union representative, may have simply been "the messenger" in filing the grievance to the proper authorities.
