The Cleveland Browns have agreed to terms with free-agent OT Paul McQuistan (Seahawks) on a two-year deal. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Seattle Seahawks OT Michael Bowie started at left guard the NFC Divisional playoff game against the New Orleans Saints, but OGs James Carpenter and Paul McQuistan split time at the spot against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game. Head coach Pete Carroll indicated the team wanted experienced players against the 49ers. He noted the team has two weeks to re-assess the situation leading up to Super Bowl XLVIII against the Denver Broncos.

Seattle Seahawks OT Russell Okung (toe) will receive a second opinion on his toe injury, and he's already been ruled out for Week 3. OT Paul McQuistan will start in Okung's place at left tackle against the Jacksonville Jaguars. Rookie OTs Alvin Bailey and Michael Bowie can also fill in for Okung.

Seattle Seahawks OL Paul McQuistan is set to make $3 million in base salary in the final year of a two-year contract. If he is unable to land a starting spot, he has a hefty salary for a backup. However, he is versatile, with the ability to play left tackle, left guard, right guard and right tackle, and he has a history with offensive line coach Tom Cable. The team might also ask him to restructure rather than cutting him.

Seahawks | Big plans for James Carpenter

The Seattle Seahawks have big plans for OT James Carpenter (knee) in 2013, assuming he can stay healthy. He is making his way back from a left knee injury suffered Dec. 2 of last season. He had arthroscopic surgery on the left knee during the offseason, and did not take part in organized team activities (OTAs) or minicamp. If healthy, he is slated to start at left guard, replacing OL Paul McQuistan.

The Seattle Seahawks have ruled out DT Jaye Howard (foot) and OG John Moffitt (knee) for the Week 6 game against the New England Patriots. OL Paul McQuistan will make his third straight start at right guard. Head coach Pete Carroll said it was also unlikely Moffitt would play in Week 7 against the San Francisco 49ers.
