Jolly remained in jail Monday, Oct. 3, after being charged Saturday, Oct. 1, with possession of a compound containing codeine. Records show he also was charged with attempting to conceal the substance from investigators.

A judge Monday, March 28, rejected Jolly's request for bond in the case, which means he'll remain in jail, a court spokeswoman said. Jolly is expected to come with a new lawyer to his court appearance, or the court will appoint a lawyer, the court spokeswoman said. Houston police arrested Jolly Friday, March 25, after allegedly finding 600 grams of codeine in his Cadillac Escalade.

Jolly was pulled over for a traffic violation but gave the police a state identification card instead of a driver's license. The police found out that Jolly's license is suspended and is not eligible for renewal. The police found 600 grams of codeine as well as an unidentified substance.

Berard and Ken Fountain, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. Jolly will not be allowed to consume drugs or alcohol and stay away from establishments that serve alcohol. He will also have to report to probation officials monthly and submit to random drug and alcohol testing. He will also need a doctor to contact the court if he is prescribed any medicine. Jolly may also face additional punishment from the NFL now that his court case has been resolved.
Tue, 03 Aug 2010 07:26:33 -0700 Updating previous reports, Green Bay Packers DL Johnny Jolly has agreed to a plea deal that will wipe clean the charge from his record if he stays clean for one year, reports the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Greg A. Bedard. Jolly was given a one year pretrial diversion after agreeing to plead guilty to the charge, though it was not made clear what kind of charge it was. He had been facing up to 20 years in prison on allegations of possessing more than 200 grams of codeine. Jolly has been suspended for the 2010 season and is eligible to apply for reinstatement after the Super Bowl.
