Adam Teicher, of The Kansas City Star, reports Kansas City Chiefs FB Oliver Hoyte worked as the starting middle linebacker Tuesday, Aug. 12, and will get a long look at the position. Injuries to linebackers Donnie Edwards (hamstring), Napoleon Harris (knee) and Pat Thomas (finger) have forced the Chiefs to try Hoyte on defense.

Todd Archer, of the Dallas Morning News, reports Kansas City Chiefs FB Oliver Hoyte earned an additional $92,869 through the NFL's Performance-Based Pay program. Hoyte spent the 2007 season with the Dallas Cowboys.

Albert Breer, of The Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys FB Oliver Hoyte (stinger) may need offseason surgery to repair some nerve damage that has caused weakness in several muscles to persist. Hoyte said he will play through the pain now and hope the nerves can re-generate on their own.
