Giants | Daniel Fells listed as starter

Mon, 10 Aug 2015 11:40:11 -0700

New York Giants TE Daniel Fells is listed as the starting tight end on the team's first depth chart.

Fantasy Tip: Fells appeared in every game last season but recorded only 188 yards and four touchdowns. Larry Donnell likely will be more involved in the passing game among the tight ends, so owners should avoid Fells in their draft.

Wed, 18 Mar 2015 23:43:25 -0700

Free-agent TE Daniel Fells (Giants) has signed a one-year contract to return to the New York Giants. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Fantasy Tip: Fells lost some fantasy value when Larry Donnell became the No. 1 tight end option in New York. Fells projects as more of a blocking tight end but carries a bit of value in case Donnell gets hurt.

Giants | May use committee at TE

Mon, 25 Aug 2014 14:21:43 -0700

The New York Giants may use a committee approach with their tight ends this season based on different situations, according to head coach Tom Coughlin. "I really think that there'll be a group of guys that'll play that'll help us in different situations and will be matched up according to the circumstance," Coughlin said. "I think that's where it's going to go. I think there's a lot of roles for that spot." TEs Larry Donnell, Adrien Robinson, Daniel Fells and Kellen Davis are expected to make the final roster, but no starter has been named.

Fantasy Tip: None of the tight ends have a lot of fantasy value, and none likely should be drafted in fantasy leagues. Robinson has the most upside and could be a waiver wire pickup during the season if he wins the starting job. Donnell could also have some value if he starts at some point.

Giants | Larry Donnell leading TE pack

Mon, 11 Aug 2014 08:31:35 -0700

New York Giants TE Larry Donnell is leading the positional race so far, according to Dan Graziano, who said Donnell has the surest hands of the group. Daniel Fells' (knee) injury has helped Donnell's cause. He's a good downfield blocker but needs to improve his run blocking at the point of the attack, Graziano said.

Fantasy Tip: This won't be an inspiring group for fantasy purposes. Wait this one out until someone shows he's relevant during the year.

Giants | Daniel Fells may have the edge

Thu, 24 Jul 2014 06:34:21 -0700

New York Giants TE Daniel Fells has received the first snap in 11-on-11 drills during the team's two days in training camp.

Fantasy Tip: Kellen Davis and Adrien Robinson have also rotated at tight end with the first team, but Fells appears to be the leader. Fells is not draftable, and it is likely he won't hold the job should he win it. Robinson is just too talented to not cut into his work. Davis is a blocker.
