Wed, 27 Feb 2013 23:04:13 -0800 By restructuring the contracts of WR Marques Colston, G Jahri Evans, G Ben Grubbs and LB David Hawthorne, the New Orleans Saints have shaved around $10 million off of their 2013 salary cap. Before the moves, the Saints were roughly $15 million over the 2013 projected salary cap.
Wed, 27 Feb 2013 23:03:23 -0800 The New Orleans Saints have restructured the contract of G Jahri Evans. He converted a portion of his base salary into a signing bonus. The team saved roughly $3 million against this year's cap with the modification of Evans' deal. His base salary was dropped from $7.2 million to $3.04 million. He'll receive $4.2 million up front, but it will be spread over the final four years of his contract. Evans has restructured his contract the past two offseasons.
