The Cleveland Indians avoided arbitration with SS Asdrubal Cabrera Friday, Feb. 10, by agreeing to a one-year, $4.55 million deal with their shortstop. The team's long-term contract negotiations with Cabrera will be put on hold for now, but they could approach a new deal in spring training.

The Cleveland Indians and SS Asdrubal Cabrera exchanged arbitration figures Tuesday, Jan. 17. Cabrera filed for $5.2 million, while the team countered with $3.75 million.

Cleveland Indians SS Asdrubal Cabrera left his winter ball game in the fourth inning after being tagged out in a rundown Thursday, Dec. 29. It's unknown if he suffered an injury.

The Cleveland Indians tendered all seven arbitration-eligible players before the deadline. SS Asdrubal Cabrera, OF Shin-Soo Choo, SP Justin Masterson, CL Chris Perez, 3B Jack Hannahan, RP Joe Smith and RP Rafael Perez were tendered contracts.
