Wed, 19 Jun 2013 11:26:24 -0700 San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) said he will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A San Jose Thursday, June 20, and is scheduled to play five innings. He said he did not feel any soreness in his injured hamstring.
Tue, 18 Jun 2013 09:54:18 -0700 San Francisco Giants 3B Pablo Sandoval (foot) and OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) are expected to be activated from the disabled list for the start of their series Monday, June 24, against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Sandoval played catch and hit in the cages without a walking boot Monday, June 17, and he's expected to start a rehab assignment with Single-A San Jose Friday, June 21. Pagan is likely to start a rehab assignment soon, as well.
Mon, 17 Jun 2013 12:04:40 -0700 San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) is hoping to avoid surgery on his left hamstring. He received a platelet-rich plasma injection last Sunday but is unable to run the bases.
Wed, 12 Jun 2013 15:48:29 -0700 San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) has improved, according to manager Bruce Bochy, but the outfielder won't be activated from the disabled list before the team's road trip ends this Sunday, June 16. Pagan has yet to jog or perform any baseball activities. Fantasy Tip: At this point, Pagan may even need a very short rehab assignment, so this absence seems likely to extend into next week. Gregor Blanco will continue to fill in most of the time in center field and at leadoff.
Tue, 11 Jun 2013 14:43:43 -0700 San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) won't come off the disabled list on Wednesday, June 12, according to manager Bruce Bochy. The manager said the outfielder needs a few more days. Fantasy Tip: This isn't surprising. Hopefully, it won't stretch beyond the weekend. It's hard to say since the injury has been more difficult than the Giants anticipated.
Fri, 07 Jun 2013 16:44:17 -0700 The San Francisco Giants placed OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) on the 15-day disabled list Friday, June 7, and recalled OF Juan C. Perez from Triple-A Fresno in a corresponding move. Pagan's DL stint has been back dated to May 28. Fantasy Tip: As they've been using for a full week now, the Giants will stick with a three-man outfield of Hunter Pence, Andres Torres and Gregor Blanco. Since Pagan's DL stint is backdated, though, he can return next week, limiting the fill-in value of Torres. This has been a frustrating situation for Pagan's fantasy owners.
Wed, 05 Jun 2013 10:57:51 -0700 San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) is not in the team's lineup Wednesday, June 5, against the Toronto Blue Jays. It's the 10th straight contest he won't start. Fantasy Tip: The Giants have already used the full window of allowable time to backdate a DL stint, so if they think he'll be ready in a couple of days, they may continue to push their luck. Fantasy owners are simply much better off not relying on him until something changes. Gregor Blanco and Andres Torres may end up being nice short-term pickups in deep leagues at this rate.
Tue, 04 Jun 2013 19:06:27 -0700 San Francisco Giants manager Bruce Bochy said Tuesday, June 4, that OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) might be able to contribute as a pinch hitter soon, which is why the team has been reluctant to place him on the 15-day disabled list. He ran about 70 percent Monday, June 3. "If he can pinch-hit, that's going to help until he's ready to (play) center field," Bochy said.
Tue, 04 Jun 2013 14:43:13 -0700 San Francisco Giants 3B Pablo Sandoval (foot) is back in the lineup Tuesday, June 4, but OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) remains out.
Fri, 31 May 2013 15:41:27 -0700 San Francisco Giants OF Angel Pagan (hamstring) could return to the lineup Saturday, June 1, but will definitely be back Sunday, June 2.
