Unrestricted free-agent OT Charles Spencer (Jaguars) said he is looking to return to the NFL and that his leg is 100 percent healed, reports Richard Justice, of the Houston Chronicle. Spencer currently weighs 317 pounds, which is the lightest he has been since he was in college.

Spencer has a metal plate and roughly eight screws in his knee, and while the injury has healed the damaged cartilage around his knee as a result of the injury is of concern to the team. Doctors feel arthritis could develop on the joint surface, leaving Spencer with an arthritic knee.

The Sports Network reports Houston Texans OL Charles Spencer (leg) will miss the remainder of the 2006 season with a broken left leg. He had surgery Monday, Sept. 18, to repair the fracture. "He has a fracture of the tibia, a severe fracture," head coach Gary Kubiak said. "The surgery went well. I don't think we'll probably know a whole lot about his recovery for another couple months. It's a very severe injury and you just hope things work out well."
