Rams | Degory chooses medical school over football

Steve Korte, of the Belleville News-Democrat, reports St. Louis Rams C Mike Degory has decided to attend medical school instead of report to the team. Head coach Scott Linehan said, "He had a change of heart. He called us back and said, 'Hey, my heart is with going to med school and becoming a doctor."

Gil Brandt, of NFL.com, reports Florida OC Mike Degory ran the 40s in 5.45 and 5.40 at his Pro Day workout Wednesday, March 8. He also has a 4.65 short shuttle and a 7.90 three-cone drill. He had a 26-inch vertical jump, an 8-foot- 5 long jump and 29 lifts.

He says he is a fundamental football player and doesn't do anything explosive, but gets the job done. His toughness and durability are another strength, as he never missed a game in his college career.
