WLWT.com reports a claim made by a 16-year-old Florence, Ky. boy that he was assaulted by Cincinnati Bengals WR Chris Henry Friday, June 8, is unfounded, according to a source. The boy claimed Henry was one of two men who jumped from an SUV and attacked him and a friend, according to Florence Capt. Linny Cloyd. The teen also claimed to have seen WR Reggie McNeal inside the car. According to the report, when the two teens tried to run away, a second man got out of the car and pushed one of the boys to the ground.

Associated Press reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Reggie McNeal was arrested in Houston and charged with resisting arrest after being refused entrance into a nightclub. He reportedly elbowed on officer in the chest and they detected a strong odor of alcohol from him. He was released on a $1,000 bond and is due in court Friday, Dec. 8.

Chick Ludwig, of the Dayton Daily News, reports Cincinnati Bengals rookie WR Reggie McNeal showed off his "Slash" skills at practice Friday, June 16. McNeal took snaps at quarterback, the position he played at Texas A&M. He also threw a pass after taking a lateral at wide receiver. "Reggie was excited, which is big," head coach Marvin Lewis said. "That's what you want to have. That's what we said when we drafted him. We've got to do things that make him feel comfortable, which will enable him to grow and learn quicker as a wide receiver."

Mark Curnutte, of the Cincinnati Enquirer, reports Cincinnati Bengals WR Reggie McNeal looked good making the transition from quarterback to wide receiver Saturday, May 13. McNeal flashed his 4.32, 40-yard speed as well as excellent cutting ability and turning the corner on routes across the middle and on out patterns. McNeal will not work at quarterback during the team's remaining three practices, according to head coach Marvin Lewis. McNeal could make the team as a No. 6 wide receiver and provide them with a wide receiver/quarterback threat.

Joseph Duarte, of the Houston Chronicle, reports Texas A&M QB Reggie McNeal said he does not regret staying for his senior season and that he feels like he can play quarterback in the NFL. Some NFL teams have discussed moving McNeal to wide receiver. "I would (switch positions) if I had to, but I feel like I'm a quarterback," McNeal said. McNeal would likely have been a hot commodity had he come out following his junior season after setting school single-season records for passing and rushing yards by a quarterback. "I don't think it hurt it, but I was disappointed personally because I didn't want to go out injured and not be able to play the last game and then not going to a bowl game," McNeal said. "I felt like it was best I stayed in."

During his NFL Combine interview, Texas A&M QB Reggie McNeal said he has not been asked about switching positions, but has heard rumors that he might be asked to. McNeal claims the last time he ran the 40, he ran a 4.28. If McNeal had to switch, he would probably go to wide receiver.

John McClain, of the Houston Chronicle, reports former NFL offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jerry Rhome has been coaching Texas A&M QB Reggie McNeal for the past month. Rhome, who has also been working with Texas QB Vince Young, helped tutor McNeal to have a strong performance at the East-West Shrine Game in January. "Reggie's got a a lot of athletic ability," said Rhome. "I like his arm strength, his work ethic and his personality." McNeal, who has been working out in Naples, Fla., to get ready for the scouting combine, is hoping to impress scouts to become a first-day pick at the NFL Draft.

The Associated Press reports Texas A&M QB Reggie McNeal was on the stars of the East-West Shrine game Saturday, Jan. 21. McNeal passed for 211 yards and two touchdowns, the second coming with two minutes left, to rally the West to a 35-31 win. He turned in an impressive week of practice before hundreds of NFL scouts. "I don't think anybody should have any doubt about the way he throws the football, his potential as a quarterback," said Texas A&M coach Dennis Franchione, who coached the West team Saturday. "It's time for him to take the next step in his career."
