New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (undisclosed) was limited in practice Wednesday, Aug. 5. He is currently on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
Fantasy Tip: Colston should take a backseat to Brandin Cooks this year, but he could still quietly put up respectable numbers, assuming he's healthy. He should be in the WR3 conversation heading into fantasy drafts.
Mon, 03 Aug 2015 10:36:14 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (undisclosed) participated in some 7-on-7 drills during practice Monday, Aug. 3. Colston said he was taking things slow during practice since he started training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list.
Fantasy Tip: Colston probably will be limited for several more days because of his injury, but he should be fine for the start of training camp. Colston could be a middle- to late-round option in drafts his season since he should still have a solid role in the passing game.

Tue, 28 Jul 2015 14:19:41 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (undisclosed) was placed on the Physically Unable to Perform list Tuesday, July 28.
Fantasy Tip: The injury was not disclosed, so Colston's status will need to be monitored heading into training camp. His fantasy value is hard to gauge until the injury and its extent are known.
Mon, 20 Jul 2015 05:48:33 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston could be used as a red zone target more than in recent years, and he should remain heavily involved in the offense.
Fantasy Tip: Colston might slip through the cracks in drafts because of his age, but he's worth the WR5 flyer.
Tue, 16 Jun 2015 19:50:29 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston did not participate in minicamp practice Tuesday, June 16, and it was at least the third session he has missed over the past two weeks. "When you play nine, 10 years in this league at a skill position, mileage is mileage," Colston said. "I'm just kind of in a mode where they want to manage that process throughout the year."
Fantasy Tip: Colston is now two years removed from the 80-catch, 1000-yard plateau, and his receptions and yards have decreased in consecutive seasons. He best years are behind him, and as indicated by his limited participation recently, nagging injuries have taken their toll. At best, Colston could be drafted as a low-end No. 4 wide receiver, but he looks a lot better as your No. 5 or No. 6.
Sat, 18 Apr 2015 16:24:14 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Brandin Cooks will be atop the depth chart with WR Marques Colston to enter the 2015 season.
Fantasy Tip: Cooks could be a big-time breakout candidate after playing in the slot most of his solid rookie season. Look at Cooks as a premium WR3 with WR2 potential.
Wed, 11 Mar 2015 23:29:48 -0700
Updating a previous report, New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston restructured his contract and took a $3.2 million pay cut. He went from $7 million in salary and bonuses to $3.8 million. The new deal now calls for a roster bonus of $2.305 million (due this week), a base salary of $1.445 million and a workout bonus of $50,000. Colston also agreed to a bigger reduction in 2016, which is the final year of his contract, dropping from $7.8 million in salary and bonuses to $3.2 million.
Fantasy Tip: Colston is still worth a late flyer in PPR leagues to round out your receiving corps.
Fri, 06 Mar 2015 07:41:52 -0800
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston restructured his contract Friday, March 6, and will return in 2015.
Fantasy Tip: Colston still has some marginal PPR value in the Saints offense. However, he's a WR5 at the tail end of drafts.
Tue, 10 Feb 2015 06:48:49 -0800
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston will probably return at a reduced rate from his $7 million salary in 2015, in the opinion of ESPN.com's Mike Triplett.
Fantasy Tip: Colston had a steep dropoff with his 59-902-5 season last year. He could come at a value as a WR5 in PPR formats in drafts as aging veterans often get overlooked.
Wed, 14 Jan 2015 11:22:07 -0800
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston may be asked to take a pay cut this offseason, because he is scheduled to make $7 million in 2015 and count $9.7 million against the salary cap.
Fantasy Tip: It is not known if Colston will be back with the Saints next season, but probably be a starting option for most teams in the league if he is released. Colston saw his receptions and receiving drop for the second straight year, but could still help fantasy teams as a low-end No. 2 or No. 3 receiver next season.
Sun, 14 Dec 2014 03:38:18 -0800
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston could be released in the offseason, as the team is facing salary cap issues and Colston is owed $7 million for 2015. DT Brodrick Bunkley and LB David Hawthorne, both of whom will make $4.5 million, are also possible release candidates.
Sun, 12 Oct 2014 07:07:46 -0700
New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham (shoulder) is expected to miss two to three weeks after the bye week in Week 6, according to a source.
Fantasy Tip: The Saints offense relies on Graham most, but, honestly, the entire depth chart could benefit in his absence. Look for more reliance on Mark Ingram, Pierre Thomas and Marques Colston in the red zone.
Mon, 29 Sep 2014 13:25:05 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston has struggled quite a bit during the first month of the season and seems to disappear at times. He had a late-game fumble against the Atlanta Falcons, was completely invisible against the Cleveland Browns and his play against the Dallas Cowboys was up and down.
Fantasy Tip: Colston is averaging just three receptions per game so far this year and was shut out in one game. He has 185 yards receiving and just one touchdown. With his erratic play and the struggles the New Orleans offense have currently, it might be a better option to look elsewhere in FantasyScore for the time being.
Mon, 15 Sep 2014 11:19:05 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston, who didn't catch a pass in Week 2 against the Cleveland Browns for the first time in 87 games, wasn't even targeted a single time. The Browns made it their mission to shut the Saints' downfield passing game down, and Cleveland had seven defensive backs on the field at once at times. WR Brandin Cooks was held to just three catches for 17 yards, and the four receivers combined for nine catches for 79 yards.
Fantasy Tip: Colston's fat zero for fantasy owners in Week 2 hurt badly. The good news is he has a good chance of bouncing back in Week 3 at home against the Minnesota Vikings.
Mon, 15 Sep 2014 06:25:38 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston was held without a reception Sunday, Sept. 14. It was the first time he didn't record a catch in a game since 2008.
Fantasy Tip: Colston is becoming a victim of the numbers game with the amount of capable targets Drew Brees has at his disposal. Colston is more of a matchup play in PPR leagues right now.
Tue, 26 Aug 2014 20:56:32 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (undisclosed) came off the field during team drills Tuesday, Aug. 26, and talked with a trainer before watching the rest of practice from the sidelines.
Fantasy Tip: Whatever caused Colston to leave the field seems minor at this point, but the situation is worth monitoring. Nagging injuries and New Orleans' spread-the-wealth offensive philosophy can cause Colston's production to fluctuate dramatically on a week-to-week basis, but he still makes a decent WR3 in PPR formats.
Tue, 26 Aug 2014 06:47:12 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston said he feels much healthier this season after being plagued by a foot injury the last year or two. The team has limited his workload this preseason to keep him fresh for the season.

New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (undisclosed) and WR Kenny Stills (quadriceps) are doing individual drills in practice Sunday, Aug. 17.

Fri, 15 Aug 2014 17:58:18 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (undisclosed) was inactive for the preseason game Friday, Aug. 15, against the Tennessee Titans.
Fantasy Tip: Colston's injury, if there even is one, is unknown. He simply might have been given the night off to rest and keep him preserved for the regular season. Fantasy owners would not mind that one bit.
Fri, 04 Jul 2014 09:17:57 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (foot) said he is feeling healthy this season. "I feel really good," Colston said. "The foot I know was addressed earlier in the offseason. It's really not an issue. I've been able to get out here with really no restrictions and just run around and feel good."
Fantasy Tip: Colston was hampered by a sore foot last year, but when healthy, he has been a reliable fantasy option. That being said, he isn't getting any younger and with Drew Brees' tendency to spread the wealth, he is probably best suited to be a WR3.
Wed, 26 Mar 2014 05:36:16 -0700
New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said the team will monitor WR Marques Colston's (foot) practice time this season.
Fantasy Tip: He dealt with foot soreness for most of the 2013 season, and it appears the 31-year-old may continue to deal with it. He's still a solid WR3, but he appears to be on the downswing.
Mon, 13 Jan 2014 15:09:09 -0800
New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton said the lateral play at the end of regulation against the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round was planned, but it involved poor execution by WR Marques Colston. The play was supposed to be a lateral across the field to RB Travaris Cadet, but Colston struggled with the execution. Payton admitted that the play was probably called too early, as well. "It's a play that we worked on," Colston said. "Obviously, it's not an ideal situation (being behind with time expiring and no timeouts), but the ball came out. And obviously the throw didn't go the way I would have planned. But, it happens."
Fri, 27 Dec 2013 17:01:19 -0800

Sun, 10 Nov 2013 09:36:25 -0800
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (knee) is expected to play in the team's Week 10 game even though he is listed as questionable.
Fantasy Tip: Colston is a risky play this week since the team plays Sunday night. If he does not play, owners will need to have a backup plan to fill his spot. It probably would be safe for owners to bench Colston this week unless they do not have a better option at the position.
Fri, 08 Nov 2013 13:19:18 -0800
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (knee) was limited during practice Friday, Nov. 8, and is listed as questionable for Week 10.
Fantasy Tip: Owners will have to wait for the inactive list to come out to see if Colston will play. If he is able to play, he should be considered a low-end starting wide receiver or flex option. Robert Meachem and Kenny Stills could get increase in value if Colston misses the game and could be flex options. Meachem likely would be a safer option than Stills for owners.
Thu, 07 Nov 2013 16:03:42 -0800

Wed, 06 Nov 2013 13:24:36 -0800
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (knee) was limited in practice Wednesday, Nov. 6.
Fantasy Tip: Colston has been a huge disappointment this year, and his production has especially tailed off in the last three games. Injuries early in the season were likely more serious than the team let on. He may not play this weekend, so be ready to replace him. You may want to do so anyway, at least until he proves that he's fully healthy.
Sun, 03 Nov 2013 08:37:54 -0800
The New Orleans Saints have declared RB Khiry Robinson, FS Malcolm Jenkins, WR Marques Colston, SS Roman Harper, QB Ryan W. Griffin, OT Terron Armstead, DL Tyrunn Walker inactive for Week 9.
Sun, 03 Nov 2013 08:29:03 -0800
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (knee) has been declared inactive for Week 9.
Fantasy Tip: With Colston out, Kenny Stills likely will receive an increase in his fantasy value since he will get more playing time. Lance Moore likely will also see more targets during the game. Both should be starting options for owners this week.
Fri, 01 Nov 2013 21:02:08 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (knee) is uncertain to play in the Week 9 game against the New York Jets. If he cannot go, the team still has good depth at the receiver position with WR Lance Moore healthy, and WR Kenny Stills emerging as a solid threat. WRs Robert Meachem and Nick Toon also provide good depth.
Fantasy Tip: If Colston is inactive, and TE Jimmy Graham (foot) is again limited, bump Moore up to a WR3 or flex play in standard leagues, and a low-end WR2 in points-per-receptions (PPR) fantasy formats. Stills would also be worth a look as a WR3/4 or flex play if Colston is sidelined.
Fri, 01 Nov 2013 14:36:51 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 9.
Fri, 01 Nov 2013 13:24:50 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (knee) did not participate in practice Friday, Nov. 1.
Fantasy Tip: Not good news for Colston owners. This may go right down to the wire on game day. Check back to see if he is active, but be prepared to have another option ready to go.
Thu, 31 Oct 2013 14:33:05 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (knee) was limited in practice Thursday, Oct. 31.
Fantasy Tip: It's a good sign that he practiced at all Thursday, but we get the sense that Colston's injuries this year have been more serious than the team has let on. He's been a massive disappointment. At this point, don't expect more than WR3 or flex production.
Wed, 30 Oct 2013 13:36:36 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (knee) did not participate in practice Wednesday, Oct. 30.
Fantasy Tip: Obviously something to keep an eye on, but there is nothing to suggest that Colston will not be available in the team's Week 9 game.

New Orleans Saints CB Keenan Lewis (foot, knee) DT Akiem Hicks (knee) and DE Cameron Jordan (ankle) all fully participated in practice Wednesday, Oct. 30. S Kenny Vaccaro (head, back), WR Marques Colston (knee), G Jahri Evans (hip), DE Tyrunn Walker (knee) and S Malcolm Jenkins (knee) all did not participate in practice
Thu, 24 Oct 2013 15:21:12 -0700
New Orleans Saints TE Jimmy Graham (foot) did not practice Thursday, Oct. 24, and the likelihood of him playing in Week 8 against the Buffalo Bills decreased. TE Benjamin Watson may start in Graham's place if he cannot play. Watson had three catches for 61 yards against the New England Patriots in Week 6 when Graham was blanketed in coverage.
Fantasy Tip: Watson could pick up some of the slack, but as Larry Holder notes, he'll likely be used to block frequently, too. Marques Colston should be primed for a big game, and Kenny Stills and Nick Toon are sleeper options that could make some big plays if Graham doesn't play.
Sun, 06 Oct 2013 15:11:20 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston was held to just two receptions for 15 yards in the Week 5 game against the Chicago Bears, and he was targeted just twice.
Fantasy Tip: There is no word of any injury for Colston, it just appears that he had an off game and wasn't involved in the offense. He'll look to bounce back in Week 6 against the New England Patriots, and remains a solid WR2/3 or flex play in most fantasy leagues.

New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (foot) fully participated in practice Saturday, Sept. 28, and is listed as probable for Week 4.

Fri, 20 Sep 2013 16:03:55 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (foot) practiced in full Friday, Sept. 20, and is probable for Week 3.
Fantasy Tip: Coltson will play. However, the matchup against Arizona Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson is a very tough one. That should make you at least consider benching Colston this week, depending on what your other options are at wideout.
Thu, 19 Sep 2013 14:45:55 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (foot) practiced in full Thursday, Sept. 19.
Fantasy Tip: You should fully expect Colston to play in Week 3 against the Arizona Cardinals. However, the matchup against Patrick Peterson is enough to consider going with other options at wide receiver this week. Drew Brees can spread it around to others if need be.
Fri, 13 Sep 2013 13:21:06 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (foot) fully participated in practice Friday, Sept. 13, and is listed as probable for Week 2.
Fantasy Tip: It looks like Colston will be able to play even though he continues to deal with his foot injury. He should be considered as a No. 2 wide receiver in fantasy leagues this week.
Thu, 12 Sep 2013 15:18:08 -0700
New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (foot) fully participated in practice Thursday, Sept. 12.
