Tue, 14 May 2013 11:34:53 -0700 Chicago Bears PK Robbie Gould (leg) and WR Brandon Marshall (hip) were both present, but did not participate in practice Tuesday, May 14. Fantasy Tip: Both players are progressing from their respective injury issues and are expected to be ready for training camp.
Thu, 25 Apr 2013 17:10:33 -0700 Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall (hip) said he started to run routes this week and felt good during his workout. He said he is around 80 to 90 percent at this point.
Sun, 21 Apr 2013 20:48:07 -0700 Chicago Bears WR Alshon Jeffery accepted an invitation to train with WR Brandon Marshall in South Florida at Fit Speed Athletic Performance, a training facility co-founded by Marshall and his longtime trainer. "I just wanted to learn from someone different and do thing different," Jeffery said Sunday, April 21. "Plus, he's a Pro Bowl player. I want to see what it takes." When he arrived at Fit Speed, Jeffery weighed in at 225 pounds with a body fat percentage of 11 or 12 percent. When he checked out a few weeks ago, Jeffery weighed 219 pounds with eight percent body fat. Fantasy Tip: The dedication and hard work is good news for Jeffery, as conditioning was one of the biggest knocks on him coming out of South Carolina. He has big-play ability, and could be a solid WR2/3 or flex fantasy option in 2013 if he continues to work hard.
Tue, 16 Apr 2013 17:36:22 -0700 Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall (hip) did not participate in the team's first day of voluntary minicamp. "It's one day at a time," head coach Marc Trestman said. "He said he's feeling better and we'll talk to trainers every day and when they say he's ready, he'll go." Marshall is recovering from minor hip surgery following the 2012 regular season.
Wed, 10 Apr 2013 13:37:26 -0700 Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall (hip) is excited to start the 2013 season healthy. Marshall had his hip scoped in January in order to have as much time as possible to get ready for 2013. "The good thing about the procedure I got done and when I got it done is, I got it done at the start of the offseason, and when you're able to do something like that, you can take your time with it," Marshall said. "You can afford to be cautious. It's about working smarter, and I probably could have started weeks ago, but no rush. We don't play games until September. As long as I'm in top shape then, that's all that matters."
Wed, 10 Apr 2013 07:38:59 -0700 Chicago Bears WR Brandon Marshall said he likes what he has seen so far from the team's offensive scheme under new head coach Marc Trestman. Marshall and TE Martellus Bennett convened at Marshall's home after receiving their new playbook on team-issued iPads. The two pulled different-colored pieces from board games, simulated some formations and plays, then quizzed one another. "Oh, my gosh, I'm in love with it," Marshall said. "Martellus and I sat down and went through the formational stuff and started challenging each other. It was exciting to go through, and it's pretty cool to have a partner." Marshall feels the scheme will spread the wealth around. "It's so stimulating and it gets everyone involved, and that's exciting to me," Marshall said. "Because the better Alshon (Jeffery) is, the better I'll be. The better Earl (Bennett) is, the better Martellus will be. The better Martellus is, the better Matt Forte will be. And so on and so forth. It's just awesome."
Fri, 15 Mar 2013 19:14:14 -0700 The Chicago Bears can free up much-needed salary cap space by signing players such as CB Tim Jennings, WR Brandon Marshall and CB Charles Tillman to extensions. However, general manager Phil Emery is very careful in doing such moves, and nothing is believed to be imminent.
Fri, 08 Mar 2013 18:05:18 -0800 Chicago Bears FB Evan Rodriguez is working out in South Florida with WR Alshon Jeffery and WR Brandon Marshall.
