Giants | Brandon Marshall released

Thu, 19 Apr 2018 11:25:50 -0700

New York Giants WR Brandon Marshall is being released Thursday, April 19, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: Marshall's absence paves the way for the Giants to draft a wide receiver or for guys like Cody Latimer and Roger Lewis to step up. For now, Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard are the only fantasy relevant receivers on the Giants.

Giants | NY Giants noncommittal on Brandon Marshall

Tue, 27 Mar 2018 10:20:55 -0700

New York Giants WR Brandon Marshall (ankle) hasn't passed a physical yet and has been working out at the team facility "trying to get healthy," according to head coach Pat Shurmur, who added "we'll have to see" when asked about Marshall's place on the team for the upcoming season.

Giants | Brandon Marshall a candidate for release?

Tue, 13 Feb 2018 09:04:47 -0800

New York Giants WR Brandon Marshall (ankle) finished with only 18 catches for 154 yards and played in only five games before he was lost for the season due to an ankle injury which required surgery in 2017. Given his limited effectiveness and the fact the Giants could save $5.1 million on the cap, the expectation is the Giants will cut ties with him, according to the New York Post's Paul Schwartz.

Fantasy Tip: Marshall isn't exactly known as a "locker-room guy" - something new head coach Pat Shurmur may not want to deal with - so he could be one-and-done in New York. The 33-year-old receiver could agree to a pay cut to potentially save a spot on the roster, but the likelihood is New York will move forward with Odell Beckham Jr. and Sterling Shepard instead. Marshall's days as a fantasy starter are likely over.

Giants | Brandon Marshall on the mend

Fri, 29 Dec 2017 07:06:50 -0800

New York Giants WR Brandon Marshall (ankle) has been running and will be free of all restrictions in a couple of weeks. He said he wants to play two more seasons.

Fantasy Tip: He's unlikely to return to the Giants next season, and after two disappointing years, he may be done as a fantasy asset. In the right situation, he could be worth a WR5 pickup in PPR formats.

Giants | Brandon Marshall to continue playing

Sun, 15 Oct 2017 07:10:04 -0700

New York Giants WR Brandon Marshall (ankle) said he is not considering retirement and plans to play in 2018.

Fantasy Tip: Marshall will be under contract with the Giants next season but it is not known if he will remain with the team. He can be a No. 3 receiver for a team in 2018 but may be a No. 4 fantasy receiver in some leagues next year.

Giants | Brandon Marshall goes to IR

Tue, 10 Oct 2017 15:37:48 -0700

New York Giants WR Brandon Marshall (ankle) was placed on the Reserve/Injured list Tuesday, Oct. 10.

Fantasy Tip: As was stated earlier, the Giants' receiving corps is as unenviable as they come in its current state. The bottom line is that anyone not named Sterling Shepard, who may miss this week, should not be started against the vaunted Denver Broncos defense.
