Broncos | Marshall benched for reporting late to therapy session Sun, 03 Jan 2010 09:28:10 -0800 Updating an ongoing story, Ed Werder, of ESPN.com, reports Denver Broncos WR Brandon Marshall was benched for reporting late to a scheduled therapy session with the Denver medical staff because of a hamstring injury the team already believed he was exaggerating, according to multiple team sources. Denver sent Marshall for an MRI on his hamstring after practice Wednesday, Dec. 30. Tests indicated the hamstring was healthy. In the week before this incident, Marshall excused himself from practice, complaining the cold weather was making it difficult for him to breathe. According to the sources, the problems with Marshall came after team leaders met with head coach Josh McDaniels Monday, Dec. 28, and encouraged him to take a hardline approach in preparing the team for their season finale. Marshall has been advised he will not be permitted on the sideline or in the locker room for the team's Week 17 game.
