There is no guarantee Lockett will see playing time, however, since the team has WRs Curtis Conway, Santana Moss, and Kevin Swayne available and the team rarely utilizes a four-wide receiver set.

Randy Lange, of the Bergen Record, reports New York Jets WR Wayne Chrebet (back) was added to the team's injury report Thursday, Oct. 16, with a back injury. Chrebet is listed as questionable and was worked on during practice Wednesday and Thursday. If he can't go, WR Curtis Conway would take his place in the starting role and WR Jonathan Carter and WR Kevin Swayne could see more time as a result.

J.P. Pelzman reports for the Bergen Record with rookie Santana Moss out with a knee injury, the New York Jets plan to go with a committee of punt returners in Saturday's pre-season game. CB Aaron Glenn and WR Laveranues Coles will be the "starting" punt returners. They will be followed by CB James Rooths and WR Kevin Swayne and Matt Farmer. "I'm hoping one of those other younger guys can do it until Santana comes back," said coach Herman Edwards. The coach also said the Jets would wait two pre-season games until attempting to add free agent help. The team is not interested in David Palmer. Edwards said about Palmer, "He's not an option. He has some issues that we don't want to deal with." (Multiple DWI arrests).
