Fri, 10 Feb 2012 07:11:02 -0800 Buffalo Bills general manager Buddy Nix has assured RB Fred Jackson personally that he'll be taken care of with a new agreement before the start of the 2012 season. Jackson has one year remaining on his current deal. "Fred and I have talked," Nix said. "We want to extend Fred. I'd like for Fred to finish his career as a Bill. He's meant a lot to us. I've got great respect for him. We do want Fred back and we do intend to try to work out a deal with him. I've told him that. What we said is what we're going to do."

"I wouldn't call it 50-50, but it's closer to 50-50 than it ever has been because (Spiller's) more confident and we have more confidence in him having experience now," said Gailey. "To me it's a win-win for everybody except them individually. It's a win-win for the team. It's a win-win for setting up game plans and for us making it through the season healthy. It's not a win-win for each of them individually because neither one of them will get the ball as much as they want to."

However, Spiller also considers himself a secret weapon as a backup. "It's like having a diamond in the rough on the sideline," Spiller said. "We know that we've got a good one-two punch, if possibly the best one-two punch in the NFL, if we know how to use it."

Fantasy Tip: With Jackson down for the count, newcomer Tashard Choice will be worked in. Look for Johnny White and C.J. Spiller to carry the load until Choice is up to speed. In the right situation, all three could be owned until this shakes out. Spiller has more value in PPR leagues. White could be used closer to the goal line and has a between-the-tackles role written all over him. Choice is versatile but needs to learn the terminology of the system and establishing timing with Ryan Fitzpatrick. The three backs, or at some point just two of them, could cannibalize each other.

Fantasy Tip: C.J. Spiller and Johnny White will assume backfield duties. Spiller probably will start, but given his struggles with running between the tackles, White could serve as the goal line back and be the better fantasy sub for Jackson long term if you're scrounging. Neither is an exciting addition or play, though; Buffalo will probably end up passing more for this week, if not for however long Jackson is out.
