Ronnie Ramos, of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports former Atlanta Falcons head coach Bobby Petrino felt owner Arthur Blank was too meddlesome in football operations. Petrino's family was also "miserable in Atlanta."

Steve Wyche, of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports Atlanta Falcons head coach Bobby Petrino has emphasized his commitment to the team despite speculation of a possible return to the college ranks after a disappointing first season in Atlanta. Petrino spoke with team owner Arthur Blank and informed him of his intent to remain in Atlanta.

D. Orlando Ledbetter, of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, reports Atlanta Falcons head coach Bobby Petrino said he was happy with the play of the defensive line Week 2. "Our defensive line did a good job of rushing the passer. [DE] John Abraham played well. [DT Jonathan] Babineaux had a lot of production. I think [DT] Grady [Jackson], since I've been here, that's the best that I've seen him play," Petrino said.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank said during a press conference that he was "very disappointed" in QB Michael Vick. Blank also said he was initially in favor of a four-game suspension, but said the leave of absence was the best option. When asked if he ever directly asked Vick if he was involved in illegal dog fighting, Blank said he had not. General manager Rich McKay said releasing Vick was an option discussed, but they agreed with the league's ruling. Head coach Bobby Petrino said there is a possibility that the team will have to prepare for a season without Michael Vick.
