The New England Patriots have announced several coaching changes. Defensive line coach Pepper Johnson will now be the linebackers coach, linebackers coach Patrick Graham has been named the defensive line coach, defensive assistant Brian Flores has been named safeties coach, defensive assistant Josh Boyer has been named cornerbacks coach and offensive assistant George Godsey has been named tight ends coach.

Albert Breer, of the Boston Globe, reports Kansas City Chiefs defensive coordinator Romeo Crennel said he thinks New England Patriots defensive line coach Pepper Johnson, who is believed to be a candidate for the Patriots defensive coordinator job, is ready to become a defensive coordinator in the NFL. "I think Pepper is probably ready to take over a defense and be in control, and I anticipate he'll have that opportunity soon," Crennel said.

Ralph Vacchiano, of the New York Daily News, reports New England Patriots defensive line coach Pepper Johnson is not only a possible candidate to become the New York Giants new defensive coordinator, he also would be very interested in the job, according to two people familiar with his thinking. Although it is not clear where Johnson sits on head coach Tom Coughlin's list of candidates, one team source said the list is actually long. According to various team and NFL sources, it includes several coaches with defensive coordinator experience, including former Buffalo Bills interim head coach Perry Fewell.
