Giants | Ben McAdoo officially a head coach

Thu, 14 Jan 2016 12:15:48 -0800

The New York Giants officially announced that Ben McAdoo will be their next head coach Thursday, Jan. 14. He's been the Giants offensive coordinator the last two seasons. New York's offense ranked 10th and eighth, respectively, in the NFL the last two seasons. QB Eli Manning's numbers have improved in each of the past two years, too. Manning completed 58.5% of his passes in 2013 for 3,818 yards, 18 touchdowns and 27 interceptions but threw a career-high 35 touchdowns this year.

Fantasy Tip: This is good news for Manning and the Giants offense, as they'll keep familiarity with McAdoo. McAdoo has made the Giants much more efficient in his version of the west coast offense. Manning can be a low-end QB1, and his favorite target, Odell Beckham Jr., should be a top-five fantasy pick in 2016.

Giants | Ben McAdoo will be Giants new coach

Wed, 13 Jan 2016 17:31:55 -0800

New York Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo will be the new head coach of the Giants, according to a source.

Fantasy Tip: McAdoo's hiring should be good news for Eli Manning and the offense since the offensive system should not change much. Eli Manning should be considered a starting quarterback in some deeper leagues, while Odell Beckham Jr. should be selected in one of the early rounds of drafts. Rashad Jennings and Shane Vereen likely will be middle-round options in a majority of fantasy leagues.

Giants | Giants plan to go deep against Seattle

Fri, 07 Nov 2014 13:02:10 -0800

New York Giants offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo said the team plans to stay aggressive and take deep shots against the Seattle Seahawks in Week 10. "You don't ever go into a game scared. You go in and trust your plan and trust your preparation," McAdoo said. "We hit those throws and made those plays in practice last week. We are going to practice hard and take care of the execution and fundamentals and the physicality this week in practice and go out and expect to execute on Sunday."

Fantasy Tip: Despite the statement, the Giants are unlikely to have a ton of success down the field against Seattle without Victor Cruz. Odell Beckham Jr. has emerged as Eli Manning's favorite target opposite Rueben Randle. Beckham ($5,300) is a bit more expensive than Randle ($5,100), but his athleticism and shiftiness could give the Seahawks more problems.
