Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski said Thursday, Sept. 3, that he will not remain on the team's coaching staff after being dismissed from his post. Jagodzinski said he was asked to stay on as the quarterbacks coach but declined.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers announced Thursday, Sept. 3, that they have dismissed offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski. The team has promoted quarterbacks coach Greg Olson to offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach.

PewterReport.com reports Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski said he wants a more balanced offense with a strong run game. "If the run is working, run it, and if the pass is working, pass it, but I think we need to be balanced. But balanced is running what you are doing well. If we can run it 30 times a game, and pass the ball 30 that would be great," Jagodzinski said.

"From my understanding we're all competing," said Johnson. "If you're on the roster you're competing. Coach [Jeff Jagodzinski] gave all of us our expectations together.

Pete Dougherty, of PackersNews.com, reports Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy said Boston College has not called yet to speak to offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski about their open head-coaching job. Jagodzinski is a potential candidate for the position because of his ties to the school. He worked as the school's offensive coordinator and offensive line coach in 1997-98. McCarthy said he would help any of his assistants advance their careers.

The zone-blocking offense that offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski learned emphasizes cut blocking on the back side of running plays. The team has practiced the technique several times this offseason during minicamps and OTAs.
