The Cleveland Browns signed PK Brandon Bogotay (Vikings) and released LB Chris Gocong and DB Usama Young Tuesday, April 2. Terms of the Bogotay deal were not disclosed.

The Cleveland Browns likely will ask LB Chris Gocong to restructure his contract if they decide to keep him. He is scheduled to make a base salary in $4.45 million in 2013.

Cleveland Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski said Tuesday, Jan. 29, that LB Chris Gocong (Achilles') should be able to return for the start of the 2013 season. Gocong suffered a torn Achilles' tendon last summer. "He's on track with his rehab," Chudzinski said. "He's started running and doing some things. As far as a timetable as to when he's going to be ready, it's still a little premature for that, but everything is on target." Chudzinski added that he didn't know if Gocong would play inside or outside in new defensive coordinator Ray Horton's scheme.

Following the season-ending injury to Cleveland Browns LB Chris Gocong (Achilles'), several others will have a chance to step up and grab more playing time. LBs Emmanuel Acho, James-Michael Johnson and Kaluka Maiava might get chances to fill in for Gocong. Head coach Pat Shurmur said Saturday, Aug. 4, that LBs L.J. Fort and Craig Robertson have also caught the eye of the coaching staff.

Cleveland Browns LB Chris Gocong (Achilles') suffered a torn right Achilles' tendon in practice Saturday, Aug. 4, and he will be out for the season, according to head coach Pat Shurmur. He had an MRI which revealed the injury, and he will require surgery. The procedure might be done as early as Monday, Aug. 6.
