Clarence E. Hill Jr., of the Star-Telegram, reports if the Dallas Cowboys sign free agent S Damien Robinson (Seahawks) it will not be before training camp. Cowboys' director of player personnel Stephen Jones said he is an option if someone suffers an injury in camp or if the Cowboys don't like what they see from Izell Reese, Lynn Scott and Keith Davis, who are competing at free safety.

He would love to resume his career with the team for which he grew up rooting. The Cowboys have been in the market for a free safety to start opposite SS Roy Williams.

Nick Eatman, of DallasCowboys.com, reports the Dallas Cowboys have indicated they will remain status quo at the free safety position despite having free agent safeties Cory Hall (Falcons) and Damien Robinson (Seahawks) in for visits recently. "Not based on what's out there," owner Jerry Jones said of signing a veteran safety, "unless something comes up off another roster."

The Cowboys are looking for ways to upgrade at safety. As noted earlier, the Cowboys may want to wait to see how their younger safeties do in training camp before adding another player.

The Houston Chronicle reports free agent S Damien Robinson (Jets) visited with the Houston Texans on Friday. Robinson didn't hide his desire to return to his home state. "It's the perfect situation," Robinson said. "It would be great to come here and fill that position and get back with Aaron (Glenn) and Marcus (Coleman).
