Detroit Lions DE Kyle Vanden Bosch is likely to be a salary cap casualty this offseason. OG Rob Sims is the only secure starter on the offensive line, and OT Gosder Cherilus will become a free agent. OT Jeff Backus has a year left on his contract, but the team isn't rushing to make a decision on him. OG Riley Reiff will start somewhere in 2013. OT Jason Fox, if he's re-signed, should see a good shot to play at tackle next season.

Detroit Lions CB Chris Houston (ankle), LB Ashlee Palmer (thumb), OG Rob Sims (hamstring), DE Cliff Avril (back) and CB Jonte Green (illness) are probable for Week 13. Houston, Palmer and Sims were limited in practice Friday, Nov. 30, while the others practiced in full.

Detroit Lions offensive line coach George Yarno said OG Rob Sims added 20 pounds this offseason so he could be a little stronger and firmer in run and pass blocking. Sims weighed 300 pounds last season but Yarno would like to see him play at 315 pounds to 320 pounds.
