Crosby has missed seven of his past 13 kicks, including two last week against the Detroit Lions. "We need to make field goals. We've talked about it. It's time that Mason goes and has a good game," Slocum said Friday, Nov. 23.

However, it didn't appear to work, as he misfired on his first two field goal attempts in Week 11 against the Detroit Lions. "I put good strikes on them, I just didn't put them on line," Crosby said. "There's a lot of things that go into it. I just have to work through it here."

Green Bay Packers PK Mason Crosby attempted 10 to 15 kicks from at least 50 yards during practice Wednesday, Oct. 24, because he has only hit one of four attempts from that distance during the season. He said he was trying to use the same motion he does when he kicks from a shorter distance. Special teams coach Shawn Slocum said Crosby has been hurrying his kicks from over 50 yards which has hurt his mechanics.

Green Bay Packers PK Mason Crosby said he is getting into his winter mindset with the first snow of the season falling this week. Crosby didn't seem too worried about the changing weather conditions. "Not really," Crosby said. "It was raining out in San Diego last week, and the footing was a little dicey there. I had a couple of issues and was sliding a little bit until I got the right cleats on."

The Green Bay Packers were not in contact with unrestricted free-agent PK Mason Crosby, one of their own free agents, Tuesday, July 26. Crosby, however, believes he will return to the Packers and thinks the two sides will be talking contract soon. He has spent most of his offseason in Green Bay. He said they had some good conversations previously and both sides appear to be happy with each other.

Pete Dougherty, of the Green Bay Press-Gazette, reports Green Bay Packers PK Mason Crosby has missed seven of his first 29 attempts this season. Five of his misses have been from 49 yards to 55 yards, but his last two were from 43 and 38 yards. Crosby found a flaw when he struggled in training camp, but he hasn't noticed any technical flaws during the regular season. Crosby said, "I watch the film and my steps look good. I continue to try to kick the ball the same way every time, that's where it's frustrating at times when it doesn't go through. " Crosby added, "I don't feel like I'm in a slump. I keep getting all these questions, (but) I'm not missing tons of kicks I shouldn't miss. These last two games are obviously ones you wish you could have back, but I feel like I'm hitting the ball well and we're going to make the kicks whenever that time comes."

Rob Reischel, of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, reports Green Bay Packers PK Mason Crosby has set a goal of making at least 90 percent of his field goal attempts in 2009. Former PK Jan Stenerud in 1981 is the only player in the team's 90-year history to complete at least 90 percent of their field goal attempts in a season. Crosby has focused on strengthening his core and doing exercises that lead to more leg explosion.
