San Diego Chargers RB Curtis Brinkley carried 10 times for just 12 yards in Week 1 against the Oakland Raiders Monday, Sept. 10. He and WR Eddie Royal actually led the team in rushing yardage. RB Ronnie Brown carried five times for just five yards, while FB Le'Ron McClain had two carries for five yards. The team obviously missed RB Ryan Mathews (clavicle), who was inactive.

McClain has worked out relentlessly this offseason, dropping weight with the goal of adding speed and quickness in order to be viewed as a threat as a blocker and a runner.
