Oakland Raiders RB Michael Bush struggled down the stretch this season as the lead running back. Bush had 977 yards on 256 carries in 2011. Those totals were both career highs. However, he ran for 78 yards or less in the final six games. He averaged more than 3.5 yards per carry in a game just once in that stretch.

Oakland Raiders head coach Hue Jackson said he wants RB Michael Bush, a prospective free agent in the offseason, to return in 2012. "Would I love to have Michael Bush back? Yes. Are you kidding me? The guy is tremendous," Jackson said. "But Michael Bush is going to have some opportunities himself. Sometimes you're not in control of that, and I respect that. Michael loves it here and loves playing for the Raiders and being a part of this organization, but any young man in these situations, they're going to do whatever they think is best for themselves and their families."

Oakland Raiders RB Michael Bush carried 19 times for 66 yards in Week 17 against the San Diego Chargers, and he added two receptions for 13 yards. Bush ended up just 23 yards short of a 1,000-yard season, but his 977 rushing yards were good for a career best. Bush also totaled seven rushing TDs and one receiving score, giving him 16 totals scores over the past two seasons.

Oakland Raiders RB Michael Bush (shoulder) was limited in practice Thursday, Dec. 22, but he should be at full strength for the team's Week 16 game. "Mike will be fine," head coach Hue Jackson said. "Mike's a warrior. He'll show up and he'll play well." Offensive coordinator Al Saunders thinks the team needs to rely more on Bush in their next matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Oakland Raiders RB Michael Bush will square off against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 16. He has had some of the best games of his career against the Chiefs. "I think I have been doing well against a lot of AFC teams, so this is just another week," Bush said Wednesday, Dec. 21. Bush took over for an injured RB Darren McFadden (foot) in Week 8 and rattled off 99 yards on 17 carries. In three games Bush has replaced McFadden against the chiefs, he's gained 355 yards on 56 carries, and that doesn't include a 16-carry, 90-yard effort in 2008 with most of the damage coming in the second half when McFadden exited early with turf toe.
