Bill Soliday, of the Oakland Tribune, reports the Oakland Raiders did not offer an interview to Fresno State head coach Pat Hill for the team's vacant head coaching position, according to sources with the Raiders' organization. Hill said he had a 10-day window where he would listed to NFL offers and added that if no offers were available by Tuesday, Jan. 17, he would remain with Fresno State. The Fresno Bee reported Hill was contacted by seven NFL teams, but he refused to identify them.

The San Francisco Chronicle reports the Oakland Raiders appear to be out of the running for Fresno State head coach Pat Hill, who has yet to schedule a formal interview for the Raiders head coaching vacancy. Hill has scheduled his first players' meeting of 2006 for early Wednesday morning, Jan. 18, possibly an indication he intends to remain with the Bulldogs' program. Hill had said he had a 10-day window for NFL teams to interview him and that window is about to expire.

Gobulldogs.com reports Fresno State head coach Pat Hill issued a statement confirming he was talking to some NFL teams about their head coaching vacancies. The highlights of the statement were: "There has been a lot of speculation in recent days about my interest and the interview process with several current NFL head coaching openings. Because of the success we've had at Fresno State, I have been contacted by several NFL teams regarding their head coaching openings. I'm not going to name the teams, out of respect, but only to say there is genuine interest. Since becoming head coach at Fresno State, I have never interviewed for another job, but with so much interest at this time from NFL teams, I owe it to my family to look and listen."
