Dolphins | Pennington to undergo surgery
Tue, 29 Sep 2009 15:03:41 -0700 Jeff Darlington, of The Miami Herald, reports Miami Dolphins QB Chad Pennington (shoulder, nose) will undergo surgery Friday, Oct. 2, to repair a torn capsule in his right shoulder, according to sources. It will be the third surgery he has had on his right shoulder in his career. Pennington also required stitches to close a cut on his nose.

Pennington suffered a dislocated shoulder in Week 3, but the greater concern is whether he tore it. Trainers had to pop Pennington's shoulder back into place immediately after he suffered the injury early in the third quarter of the team's Week 3 game.
